Hotmail Fancy a free, web-based email account you can check from any machine with web access? 
Digital Mail If you want a free personal phone number, then check these people out.  Give people one phone number, and divert calls to anywhere - mobile, home, office. 
I-Name Get a memorable email address for life that divert to your [email protected] account 
First Telecom Save money on your phone calls, particularly if you use an Orange mobile or ever phone abroad.  Substantially cheaper than BT pay-in-advance service.  If you decide to use this, quote account number 1051349 and I'll get some free airtime!  This isn't why I'm recommending it though...Use Orange mobiles for 5.5p a minute! Use payphones when you don't have change! Phone the US for 10p a minute!

Search Engines

Excite The best search engine on the web, IMHO.  Supports Boolean searches, etc.
Yahoo! UK Search engine arranged by topic, now based in the UK for fast access.
Lycos A good standby search tool.
WhoWhere? Find people and email addresses
Bigfoot Another tool for finding people's email addresses.

The Onion American satirical newspaper, printed every Wednesday
Cruel Site of the Day Rogers Cadenhead's daily-updated site du jour. 
Entropy Gradient Reversals In the words of Christopher Locke, "the greatest electronic newsletter ever created".  He might be right.  Gonzo web evangelism at its finest.

Netscape If you're not viewing this page with their software, you should be.  Communicator 4.01 now available, plus every conceivable plug-in for Navigator.
TuCows The ultimate collection of WinSock software.  Any internet-related software you need you can get here.  Superb shareware site.
Paint Shop Pro JASC software, home of the superb shareware Paint Shop Pro - try it free for thirty days and see if you think it's nearly as good as Adobe's Photoshop.
